Key Responsibilities (Job Description)
The Mechanical / Technical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, equipment functionality, and technical support across manufacturing operations.
Core Duties Include:
- Supporting the Production Manager with technical administration, production schedules, and workforce planning
- Diagnosing machinery faults and performing root-cause analysis on technical failures
- Providing technical troubleshooting and on-site maintenance support
- Monitoring machinery and ensuring consistent equipment performance throughout operational lifecycles
- Developing engineering maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance systems
- Assisting in technical problem-solving and equipment optimization initiatives
- Collaborating with production, maintenance, and cross-functional departments to meet operational targets
- Conducting site inspections and machinery condition assessments
- Testing and evaluating machinery components according to engineering specifications
- Maintaining accurate engineering documentation and technical reports
- Investigating production, safety, or quality-related technical issues and implementing corrective solutions
- Supporting workflow optimization and equipment layout improvements to maximize productivity and cost-efficiency
- Ensuring adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS), workplace safety standards, and engineering compliance requirements
Education & Qualification Requirements
Applicants should meet the following educational requirements:
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Discipline
- Additional certifications in maintenance engineering, manufacturing systems, or industrial safety will be considered advantageous
- Professional engineering registration or membership in engineering bodies is beneficial but not mandatory
