Job Overview

This critical role ensures compliance with national and international food safety standards across Nestlé Lesotho’s production facilities. The Food Safety Compliance Officer will lead audits, implement quality control protocols, and collaborate with regulatory bodies to maintain Nestlé’s reputation for excellence. The position requires a proactive approach to risk mitigation and continuous improvement in food safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits of production lines to ensure adherence to HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards
  • Develop and maintain food safety documentation, including traceability systems and recall protocols
  • Train production staff on hygiene practices and safety procedures
  • Monitor regulatory updates from the Lesotho Food and Drug Authority (LFDA) and implement required changes
  • Investigate and resolve food safety incidents through root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw material safety compliance

Required Skills

  • Expertise in food safety regulations (Lesotho and international)
  • Proficiency in audit software (e.g., SQA Systems)
  • Strong analytical skills for risk assessment
  • Excellent communication for stakeholder engagement
  • Problem-solving in high-pressure production environments

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Public Health, Agricultural Engineering, or related discipline. Advanced certification in Food Safety Management (e.g., PCQI, FSPCA) is highly advantageous.

Experience

3-5 years in food safety compliance roles within manufacturing or processing facilities. Experience in multinational food corporations or Lesotho’s food sector is preferred.

Salary

200,000 – 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
