Job Overview
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will lead FNB Lesotho’s enterprise risk management framework, ensuring that risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring align with the bank’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the CRO will shape risk policies, oversee risk analytics, and embed a risk‑aware culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework in line with regulatory standards and the bank’s strategic goals.
- Lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of credit, market, operational, liquidity, and reputational risks across all business lines.
- Present risk reports and recommendations to the Board Risk Committee and senior management, ensuring transparent communication of risk exposures.
- Oversee the development of risk appetite statements, limits, and tolerance levels, and ensure adherence throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with business units to embed risk‑aware decision making into product development, pricing, and strategic planning.
- Manage the risk analytics team, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Basel III, local banking regulations, and international best practices, coordinating with internal audit and external regulators.
- Drive the adoption of advanced risk technologies, including predictive analytics, AI‑based credit scoring, and real‑time risk monitoring tools.

Education

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in risk management within a banking or financial services environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing enterprise‑wide risk functions.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The compensation package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, pension contributions, and other benefits.
