Job Overview

The Mining Equipment Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the acquisition of heavy equipment and related services essential for mining operations in Lesotho. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate qualified suppliers of mining equipment, including earth‑moving machinery, crushing plants, and ancillary services.
  • Develop and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and negotiate contracts to achieve best value.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define technical specifications and delivery schedules.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end procurement cycle, from requisition approval to receipt, inspection, and payment processing.
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular assessments, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and compliance documentation in line with corporate policies.
  • Support cost‑saving initiatives and value‑engineering projects to optimize equipment lifecycle costs.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and ethical standards throughout the procurement process.

Minimum of five (5) years of proven procurement experience, specifically in sourcing heavy equipment for mining or large‑scale industrial projects. Prior exposure to international supplier bases and cross‑border logistics is highly valued.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
