Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrology Engineer to join our specialized technical team in Qacha’s Nek. This role is critical for our mission to manage complex water systems in mountainous terrains. Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex hydrological modeling and groundwater flow simulations to predict water availability.
- Design and oversee the implementation of water catchment and drainage systems.
- Conduct field investigations to assess soil permeability and aquifer characteristics.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists to ensure compliance with local and international water quality standards.
- Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies for large-scale water infrastructure investments.
- Supervise junior engineers and technicians during field data collection and site assessments.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in hydrological modeling software such as MODFLOW or HEC-HMS.

Education
A Master of Science (MSc) in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree alone will not be considered for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in hydrological engineering, specifically focusing on groundwater modeling or surface water management in mountainous or semi-arid regions. Experience in the Southern African development context is highly preferred.
Salary
The annual remuneration package for this position ranges from 450,000 SSP to 680,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and technical certifications.
