Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Metallurgical Engineer to lead our processing optimization initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring the maximum recovery of minerals while minimizing waste and energy consumption. The successful candidate will oversee complex metallurgical processes, from ore sampling to final concentrate production, ensuring that all outputs meet strict international quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize metallurgical processes to maximize mineral recovery and concentrate grade.
  • Conduct detailed metallurgical balance calculations and manage mass/water balances within the processing plant.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex metallurgical issues and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
  • Oversee pilot plant testing and scale-up operations for new ore bodies or processing technologies.
  • Collaborate with the mining and geology departments to ensure ore characteristics are optimized for processing.
  • Manage metallurgical laboratory testing and ensure data integrity for all analytical results.

Required Skills

  • Advanced expertise in mineral processing technologies and chemical reagent management.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical modeling software and advanced statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering technical projects on time.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a high-pressure environment.

Education

A Master of Science (MSc) in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. A PhD in a specialized metallurgical discipline is highly preferred.
