Job Overview

The Corporate Governance Analyst will support Barclays Bank Lesotho’s governance framework by monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practice standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess compliance with the Central Bank of Lesotho regulations, anti‑money laundering statutes, and internal governance policies.
  • Prepare and present governance reports to the Board of Directors and senior executives, highlighting key risk indicators and remediation actions.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of corporate policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with international best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of governance training programs for staff at all levels.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management and Internal Audit teams to identify and mitigate governance‑related risks.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of governance frameworks, meeting minutes, and decision‑making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and disclosures required by Lesotho authorities.
  • Provide advisory support on corporate ethics, conflict‑of‑interest management, and whistle‑blowing mechanisms.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of drafting clear reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with governance software is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Lesotho banking regulations and international governance standards such as Basel III and COSO.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Corporate Governance Professional (CCGP) or Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) are advantageous.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of experience in corporate governance, compliance, risk management, or a related field within the banking or financial services industry. Prior exposure to regulatory reporting and board liaison functions is highly desirable.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and benefits are also part of the total compensation package.
