Job Overview

The Water Resources Engineer will lead the planning, design, and implementation of water supply and treatment projects across Mohale’s Hoek and surrounding districts. Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, local authorities, and community stakeholders to develop resilient water systems that meet regulatory standards and community needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive water resource assessments, including surface water and groundwater evaluations.
  • Develop hydraulic and hydrologic models to support the design of water distribution networks.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, and construction drawings for treatment plants, pipelines, and storage facilities.
  • Coordinate with local government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders to ensure project alignment with regional development plans.
  • Perform environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with Lesotho water regulations and international standards.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and procurement processes, ensuring cost‑effective delivery.
  • Supervise field surveys, site investigations, and construction monitoring activities.
  • Provide technical support during the commissioning and handover phases of water infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder communication materials.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the engineering department.

Required Skills

Education

Experience
