Job Overview

As a Renewable Energy Project Engineer, you will spearhead the design, implementation, and commissioning of solar and wind projects throughout Lesotho. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering design and feasibility studies for solar and wind installations.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure project compliance.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Oversee procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimize system efficiency post‑commissioning.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, especially PV and wind turbines.
  • Proficiency in CAD, PVsyst, and SCADA systems.
  • Excellent project management and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to challenging environments.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Sesotho is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering is required. Advanced certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years managing renewable energy projects, with a proven track record of successful delivery in Africa or similar emerging markets.

Salary

Competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 85,000 to SSP 115,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
