Position Summary
The Communications Manager will be responsible for leading strategic communications initiatives that support international advocacy campaigns, increase Global Shield’s visibility, and strengthen engagement with policymakers, journalists, stakeholders, and the public.
The successful candidate will serve as the organization’s brand guardian, overseeing storytelling, digital communications, media relations, and advocacy messaging across multiple platforms and countries.
Key Responsibilities (Job Description)
1. Strategic Communications & Advocacy
- Develop and implement integrated communications strategies supporting global advocacy campaigns
- Deliver compelling communications materials to influence public policy and stakeholder engagement
- Support country-level advocacy efforts with high-quality communications planning
- Increase organizational awareness and policy influence globally
2. Media Relations & Public Engagement
- Serve as a key point of contact for journalists and media partners
- Draft and edit press releases, keynote speeches, media statements, op-eds, and event communications
- Coordinate media appearances and public engagement opportunities
- Support planning and execution of high-level advocacy events
3. Digital Communications & Social Media
- Manage digital communication campaigns across online platforms
- Oversee website content management and digital storytelling initiatives
- Improve search engine visibility (SEO optimization)
- Lead multi-channel communications including email, social media, and web campaigns
- Monitor audience engagement and brand performance metrics

Education Requirements
Applicants should possess:

Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- 5–10 years of professional experience in communications, journalism, advocacy, marketing, public affairs, or brand management
- Proven experience managing global or multi-country communication strategies
- Strong advocacy or nonprofit communication experience preferred
- Experience handling politically sensitive or complex communication topics
- Demonstrated success managing brand positioning and storytelling campaigns
