Job Overview
The Agricultural Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in transforming raw field data into actionable insights that empower farmers, agronomists, and business units. Working within the Data Analytics department, you will collect, clean, and analyze data from satellite imagery, IoT sensors, and farm management software to support decision‑making on crop selection, irrigation scheduling, and yield optimization. Key Responsibilities
- Gather and integrate data from diverse sources including drones, soil sensors, weather stations, and farm equipment.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations that track key performance indicators for crop health, resource usage, and profitability.
- Perform statistical analysis and predictive modeling to forecast yields, identify disease risks, and recommend optimal input levels.
- Collaborate with agronomists, engineers, and sales teams to translate analytical findings into practical recommendations for farmers.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies in precision agriculture and data science.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, and GIS software.
- Experience with agricultural datasets, remote sensing, and IoT sensor data.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in GIS, machine learning, or agronomy are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of professional experience in data analysis, preferably within the agricultural sector or a related field such as environmental science or agribusiness.
Salary
The role offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
