Job Overview

GeoSpatial Solutions International is seeking a skilled Geospatial Data Analyst to join its team in Quthing, Lesotho. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data using GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools.
  • Create detailed maps, charts, and reports to visualize environmental data for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists and planners to interpret geospatial findings and inform decision-making.
  • Conduct field surveys to validate geospatial data and ensure accuracy of datasets.
  • Develop geospatial models to assess environmental risks, such as deforestation or soil erosion.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present findings to clients, government agencies, and community groups.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing platforms (Google Earth Engine, ERDAS).
  • Experience with geospatial data analysis, including spatial statistics and cartography.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in data interpretation.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical findings into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with environmental planning principles and Lesotho’s ecological context.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Geospatial Analysis, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in geospatial data analysis, preferably in environmental or urban planning contexts.
  • Proven track record in managing large datasets and producing high-quality geospatial outputs.

Salary

2,500 – 3,500 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
