Job Overview
The Branch Operations Supervisor will oversee daily operational activities at the Mafeteng branch, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing workflow efficiency, and delivering superior service to customers. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the supervisor will lead a team of tellers, customer service representatives, and back‑office staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. This role is pivotal in maintaining operational integrity, managing risk, and supporting the branch’s financial performance targets. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product specialists, risk officers, and IT teams to implement process improvements and drive digital adoption. By aligning operational practices with Nedbank’s strategic objectives, the supervisor will play a critical role in enhancing the branch’s reputation and market share in the Mafeteng region.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily branch operations, including cash handling, transaction processing, and customer service delivery.
- Ensure strict adherence to banking regulations, internal policies, and anti‑money laundering (AML) guidelines.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to meet operational targets.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 15+ staff members, conducting performance reviews and providing continuous feedback.
- Coordinate with the Branch Manager on budgeting, resource allocation, and staffing needs.
- Identify process inefficiencies and propose automation or workflow enhancements.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Oversee the implementation of new banking products and digital channels within the branch.

Education

Experience
Applicants must have at least five (5) years of progressive experience in banking operations, with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory or team‑lead role. Experience in a branch environment within Lesotho or the Southern African region is preferred.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the remuneration package.
