Job Overview
The Data Governance Specialist will lead initiatives to ensure data integrity, compliance, and ethical use across KPMG Lesotho’s operations. This role bridges technical expertise with strategic governance to support clients in managing data as a critical asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks aligned with ISO 38505 and GDPR standards.
- Conduct audits to assess data quality, security, and compliance across client projects.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design data classification and retention policies.
- Provide training on data ethics and regulatory requirements to stakeholders.
- Monitor emerging data governance trends and recommend process improvements.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in data governance frameworks and compliance regulations.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating data workflows and risk mitigation.
- Excellent communication to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
- Experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CDMP, CDP) are advantageous.
Experience
3-5 years in data governance, compliance, or information management roles. Experience in audit or consulting sectors is preferred.
Salary
3,000 – 4,500 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
