Job Overview
The Digital Payments Product Manager will lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Mastercard’s digital payment products tailored for the Lesotho market. Key Responsibilities
- Define product vision, strategy and roadmap for digital payment solutions in Lesotho.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer research to identify opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate requirements into product specifications.
- Manage product backlog, prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of releases.
- Work with compliance and risk teams to ensure products meet regulatory standards.
- Develop go‑to‑market plans, pricing strategies, and partnership models with local banks and fintech firms.
- Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and iterate to improve user experience.
- Represent Mastercard at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of digital payments, mobile wallets, and fintech ecosystems.
- Proven product management experience, preferably in financial services.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment.
- Familiarity with Lesotho’s regulatory landscape for payments is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in product management (e.g., AIPMM, Pragmatic Institute) are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five years of product management experience, with at least two years focused on digital payments or fintech solutions. Experience working with banks, merchants, or payment processors in emerging markets is highly valued.
Salary
The role offers a competitive salary range of SSP 350,000 to 500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and equity incentives may also be part of the compensation package.
