Job Overview
This role is ideal for a creative professional passionate about leveraging digital tools to amplify underrepresented stories. The Digital Storytelling Consultant will collaborate with local journalists, NGOs, and community leaders to design innovative multimedia campaigns that address social, cultural, and environmental issues in Lesotho. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of media in Southern Africa while working with a globally recognized organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute digital storytelling strategies for print, broadcast, and online platforms
- Train local journalists in advanced multimedia production techniques (video, audio, interactive content)
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to identify and document grassroots stories
- Produce cross-platform content for social media, podcasts, and web series
- Conduct workshops on ethical storytelling, data journalism, and audience engagement
Required Skills
- Expertise in digital content creation tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Audacity)
- Strong understanding of Lesotho’s socio-cultural context
- Fluency in Sesotho and English
- Experience with social media analytics and SEO best practices
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in multimedia storytelling are a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of professional experience in digital media production, preferably with international NGOs or media organizations. Prior work in Southern Africa is highly advantageous.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 SSP/month, commensurate with experience.

Working Environment
