Job Overview
Skanska Lesotho seeks a Green Building Systems Engineer to design, implement, and oversee sustainable construction projects in Qacha’s Nek. This role will integrate cutting-edge green technologies with traditional building methods to create energy-efficient, environmentally responsible structures. Candidates will collaborate with architects, local stakeholders, and government agencies to ensure compliance with international sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize building systems for energy efficiency, water conservation, and reduced carbon footprint
- Conduct feasibility studies for renewable energy integration (solar, geothermal) in construction projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop LEED-certified building designs
- Monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to green building codes and safety regulations
- Prepare technical reports and sustainability impact assessments for clients and regulatory bodies
Required Skills
- Proficiency in BIM (Building Information Modeling) software and energy simulation tools
- Knowledge of LEED, BREEAM, or equivalent green building certification standards
- Experience with passive design principles and low-carbon material selection
- Strong analytical skills for lifecycle cost analysis of sustainable systems
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Sesotho
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Sustainable Architecture, or Environmental Engineering
- Preferred: LEED AP (Accredited Professional) certification
Experience
- 3-5 years in sustainable construction or green building design
- Proven track record in managing mid-to-large-scale infrastructure projects
Salary
3000 – 4500 SSP/month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
