Job Overview
This role is part of Sasol’s initiative to expand hybrid energy infrastructure in Southern Africa. The position is based in Mafeteng, Lesotho, and focuses on designing, optimizing, and maintaining hybrid energy systems for rural electrification projects. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy technologies with conventional power grids, ensuring reliable and cost-effective energy access for underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement hybrid energy systems combining solar, wind, and diesel generators.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new energy projects in remote Lesotho regions.
- Monitor system performance and optimize energy output using data analytics tools.
- Train local technicians in system maintenance and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with government agencies to secure permits and comply with energy regulations.
Required Skills
- Expertise in hybrid energy system design and simulation software (e.g., HOMER Pro).
- Strong analytical skills for energy load forecasting and cost-benefit analysis.
- Proficiency in SCADA systems for real-time energy monitoring.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication abilities.
- Experience working in off-grid energy solutions in developing regions.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Renewable Energy.
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required.

Salary
40,000 – 55,000 SSP/month, depending on experience and qualifications.
