Job Overview
The Public Health Program Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of community health initiatives in Mafeteng. This role requires collaboration with local clinics, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure programs align with national health priorities. The position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to transformative healthcare outcomes in Lesotho.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of public health programs, including HIV prevention, nutrition, and disease surveillance.
- Monitor program performance using data-driven strategies to improve health outcomes.
- Coordinate with local stakeholders to build partnerships and secure resources for program sustainability.
- Prepare reports for donors, government bodies, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide training and mentorship to local health workers and volunteers.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in public health program management, preferably in low-resource settings.
- Strong cross-cultural communication and community engagement skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS) and health monitoring frameworks.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving public health challenges.
- Fluency in English and Sesotho is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or equivalent is an asset.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in public health program coordination, with a focus on community-based initiatives.
- Experience working in Lesotho or other Southern African countries is advantageous.
Salary
3,000 – 4,500 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
