Job Overview
The Crop Protection Sales Manager will lead Bayer’s sales initiatives in Lesotho, focusing on building strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and farming cooperatives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan for crop protection products across Lesotho, targeting both smallholder and commercial farms.
- Identify, recruit, and manage a network of distributors and field agents to expand market reach.
- Conduct field visits, product demonstrations, and training sessions for farmers and agronomists.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales tactics.
- Collaborate with Bayer’s research and development teams to stay updated on product innovations and regulatory changes.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with local agricultural regulations and Bayer’s code of conduct.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of crop protection products, pest management, and agronomic practices.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets in the agricultural sector.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain long‑term relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics tools and CRM systems.
- Fluency in English and Sesotho; additional languages are a plus.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required. Advanced certifications in sales or agronomy are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in agricultural sales, preferably within crop protection, seed, or fertilizer markets. Experience managing a sales team or network of distributors is highly valued.
