Job Overview
The Hospitality Operations Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the new Hilton property in Quthing. Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Operations, the manager will be responsible for ensuring that the hotel delivers the highest standards of service, safety, and profitability. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience, managing cross‑functional teams, and aligning daily operations with Hilton’s brand standards and corporate objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with local suppliers, government agencies, and community partners to embed Hilton’s values within the Quthing market.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of 80+ staff members, including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement operational policies that align with Hilton’s brand standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and guest satisfaction scores, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives to achieve financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security protocols, including fire safety, sanitation, and emergency response plans.
- Drive revenue growth through effective upselling, promotional campaigns, and partnership development with local tourism operators.
- Oversee procurement and inventory management, fostering relationships with local vendors to support the Lesotho economy.
- Implement sustainability practices, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and community outreach programs.
- Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting operational achievements and areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a focus on coaching and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with guests, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Proven analytical skills to interpret financial data and operational metrics.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Sesotho is an advantage.
- Knowledge of hospitality software systems such as OnQ, Opera, or similar platforms.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) or similar are desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years in a senior operational role within a hotel or resort environment, preferably with experience in a multinational brand. Demonstrated success in managing large teams and achieving financial targets is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 300,000 to SSP 500,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
