Job Overview

The Construction Project Controls Manager will lead the planning, scheduling, cost control and performance reporting for major construction initiatives in the Quthing region. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, aligning with contractual milestones.
  • Prepare cost forecasts, budget updates and variance analyses, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Implement earned value management (EVM) techniques to monitor project performance and predict potential overruns.
  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering and field teams to ensure accurate data flow and timely issue resolution.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and executive summaries for internal and client review.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, establishing contingency plans and corrective actions.
  • Lead a small team of project control analysts, providing mentorship, training and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with LafargeHolcim’s health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout all project phases.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost control tools.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a solid grasp of earned value management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex data to diverse audiences.
  • Leadership experience, including team management and stakeholder coordination.

  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Sesotho is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP or a recognized earned value certification are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in construction project controls, with a proven track record of managing large‑scale infrastructure or industrial projects. Experience within the cement, aggregates or concrete industry is preferred, but not mandatory. Candidates with a background in multinational environments and exposure to African construction markets will be given priority.

Salary
