Job Overview

The Healthcare IT Project Manager will lead end‑to‑end implementation projects for Cerner’s suite of health technology solutions across hospitals, clinics, and health ministries in Lesotho. Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and international best practices. This position plays a critical role in bridging the gap between technical teams and clinical stakeholders, fostering strong relationships, and driving successful adoption of digital health tools. Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for EHR and tele‑health implementations.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams including software engineers, clinical informaticists, and local health officials.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, conduct regular status meetings, and provide transparent reporting to senior leadership.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and user acceptance criteria.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues promptly, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee training programs for clinical staff, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and system proficiency.
• Monitor post‑implementation performance, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Proven expertise in managing large‑scale healthcare IT projects, preferably with EHR systems.
• Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical terminology, and data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, local equivalents).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage diverse stakeholder groups.
• Advanced problem‑solving abilities and a data‑driven mindset.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or Primavera.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and adapt to evolving project scopes.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience leading healthcare IT implementations, with a track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget. Experience working in Sub‑Saharan Africa or emerging markets is a strong advantage.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 350,000 to SSP 500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the compensation package.
