The Electrical Systems Integration Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of complex electrical solutions for utility and industrial projects throughout Lesotho. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical integration designs for medium and high‑voltage projects, including substations, distribution networks, and automation systems.
• Coordinate with project managers, civil engineers, and control system specialists to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
• Conduct feasibility studies, load flow analysis, and short‑circuit calculations to validate system performance.
• Oversee procurement, testing, and installation of equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and SCADA interfaces.
• Lead commissioning activities, perform functional testing, and certify systems in accordance with IEC and local standards.
• Provide technical support during operation, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design reports, as‑built drawings, and operation manuals.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the Lesotho office.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Strong understanding of IEC 61850, IEC 60364, and local Lesotho electrical codes.
• Experience with SCADA systems, PLC integration, and protective relaying.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and report preparation.
• Project management capabilities, including schedule and budget adherence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as IEC Certified Engineer, PMP, or relevant vendor qualifications (e.g., Schneider Electric Power Expert) are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in electrical systems integration, preferably within utility, industrial, or large‑scale renewable energy projects. Demonstrated track record of delivering projects from concept through commissioning is essential.

Salary
