Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and remediate threats.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
  • Lead incident response activities, including detection, containment, eradication, and post‑incident analysis.
  • Collaborate with network engineers to integrate security controls into routing, switching, and wireless architectures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and local partners.
  • Monitor security alerts, analyze logs, and generate actionable intelligence to proactively mitigate risks.
  • Prepare detailed security reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting the telecommunications sector in Lesotho.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness of cybersecurity best practices among businesses and government entities.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in network security technologies, including firewalls (Cisco ASA, Firepower), IDS/IPS, and secure VPN architectures.
  • Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and log analysis.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and wireless security standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
