Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA function for Heineken Lesotho’s brewing operations, ensuring that all products meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Operations Director, the manager will develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, conduct audits, and collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with ISO 9001 and local regulatory requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and resolved promptly.
  • Monitor production processes, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to validate new product formulations and process changes.
  • Oversee sampling, testing, and release procedures for raw materials, in‑process goods, and finished products.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including batch records, SOPs, and quality reports.
  • Provide training and mentorship to QA staff and cross‑functional teams on quality standards and best practices.
  • Analyze quality data and generate KPI dashboards to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the manufacturing site.
  • Represent Heineken Lesotho in industry forums and regulatory meetings to stay abreast of emerging standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP.
  • Proven experience in leading QA teams within a beverage or food manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, SPSS).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production schedules.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or HACCP Practitioner are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive experience in quality assurance, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role within the beverage or food manufacturing sector.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
