Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and monitoring financing solutions for solar, wind, and hybrid power projects across Lesotho. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the analyst will work closely with engineering, legal, and procurement teams to ensure that each project meets financial viability criteria, aligns with regulatory frameworks, and delivers expected returns. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed financial models for renewable energy projects, incorporating capital costs, operating expenses, revenue streams, and tax incentives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, sensitivity analyses, and risk assessments to support investment decisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive financing proposals and presentations for internal stakeholders, lenders, and equity partners.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to Lesotho’s regulatory requirements and international financing standards.
  • Monitor project performance post‑investment, tracking cash flows, debt service coverage ratios, and key financial metrics.
  • Assist in negotiating loan agreements, power purchase agreements, and other contractual documents.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability team to align financial structures with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market trends, financing instruments, and policy developments affecting renewable energy in Lesotho and the Southern African region.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling using Excel or specialized software.
