Job Overview
The AgriTech Innovation Manager will lead the development and implementation of technology-driven solutions to optimize agricultural productivity and sustainability in Lesotho. This role bridges the gap between emerging technologies and traditional farming practices, ensuring scalable impact across the agribusiness value chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy agri-tech solutions such as precision farming tools, IoT-enabled crop monitoring systems, and blockchain-based supply chain tracking.
- Collaborate with local farmers, cooperatives, and government agencies to identify technological needs and training requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new agricultural technologies and assess their economic and environmental viability.
- Manage partnerships with tech startups and research institutions to pilot innovative agri-tech projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented technologies on yield improvement, cost reduction, and sustainability metrics.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in agricultural technology implementation and project management.
- Strong understanding of Lesotho’s agricultural landscape and challenges.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Python, R) and GIS mapping software.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Experience with grant writing and securing funding for innovation projects.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or related field
- Master’s Degree in Agricultural Technology or Sustainable Development preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in agribusiness technology or agricultural innovation
- Previous project management experience in Lesotho or Southern Africa
Salary
3,200 – 4,800 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
