Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute tourism development strategies to attract international and domestic visitors.
- Collaborate with local communities to preserve cultural heritage and promote community-based tourism.
- Identify funding opportunities for infrastructure projects, including eco-lodges and hiking trails.
- Monitor tourism trends and market demands to adjust strategies for maximum impact.
- Coordinate with government agencies to streamline tourism-related policies and regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in tourism planning, cultural resource management, or sustainable development.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering large-scale initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in grant writing and securing international tourism funding.
- Fluency in English and Sesotho preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Cultural Studies, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Public Administration or Sustainable Development is an asset.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in tourism development, cultural preservation, or regional economic planning.
- Experience working in rural or mountainous tourism environments.
Salary
- 3,000 – 4,500 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
