Job Overview
Arup Lesotho seeks a dynamic Urban Resilience Planner to lead initiatives in designing and implementing climate-adaptive urban solutions in Quthing. This role will support Lesotho’s national goals for sustainable development while addressing the unique challenges of highland urban environments. Key Responsibilities
- Develop urban resilience strategies for Quthing’s infrastructure and communities
- Conduct climate risk assessments and vulnerability analyses
- Collaborate with local governments and stakeholders on sustainable urban planning
- Design flood mitigation and green infrastructure solutions
- Prepare technical reports and visualizations for policymakers and community stakeholders
Required Skills
- Expertise in urban resilience planning and climate adaptation frameworks
- Proficiency in GIS and urban modeling software (e.g., ArcGIS, CityEngine)
- Strong analytical skills for climate data interpretation
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and community consultations
- Knowledge of Lesotho’s urban development policies and challenges
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years in urban resilience planning or sustainable development
- Experience with climate adaptation projects in highland environments
Salary
