Job Overview

The Retail Operations Analyst will be responsible for analysing store performance, optimizing inventory flows, and supporting strategic decisions that enhance profitability and customer satisfaction. Working closely with store managers, supply chain partners, and the corporate analytics team, the analyst will translate data into actionable insights, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall efficiency of Shoprite’s Mokhotlong operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyse sales, inventory, and foot‑traffic data from all Shoprite outlets in Mokhotlong.
  • Develop weekly and monthly performance dashboards for senior management.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve stock turnover and reduce shrinkage.
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimise replenishment cycles.
  • Support pricing and promotion strategies through data‑driven recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales per square metre, gross margin, and out‑of‑stock rates.
  • Assist in the implementation of new retail technologies, including POS upgrades and inventory management systems.
  • Provide training and mentorship to store staff on data interpretation and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data‑visualisation tools.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, supply chain fundamentals, and merchandising principles.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in data analytics or retail management will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in retail analytics, store operations, or supply chain analysis. Experience within a large retail chain or a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is highly desirable.

Salary
